    Hi! I’m Kayla!

I’m 23, I use she/her pronouns, and I am an aspiring background painter / conceptual artists!

I started this blog back when I was still in highschool and now I have graduated college with a BFA in sequential art (small study in conceptual illustration and painting) god I’m old….

I am leaving my favorite pieces so you know what I create if you follow me!

(I’m still trying…to work on how to get all my art onto one tag without it going out of order? But this is tumblr 😅)

  • i just got recommended the blog wordsearchwhatever and let's just say if this was 2014 our blogs would be anthropomorphized and kissing

  • @is-this-yuri please settle this debate

  • Sorry, OP, but this is clearly yuri. The insistence that it isn't only makes it more yuri.

    Conclusion: This is yuri.

  • I made a fake disability ID card does that make me a bad person

  • “We were in Europe a couple years ago and we went to this museum and I went up to the ticket taker and I was like, ‘Hey, I read on your website that you let people with disabilities come to the museum for free?’ And she was like, ‘Yes, but I’m gonna need to see some ID proving that you have a disability.’ And I was like, ‘What do… I mean, I have one leg.’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah yeah, but do you have disability ID proving..?’ I was like, ‘I don’t - I mean, do you think this is an optical illusion?  Or like an elaborate costume I’ve created to get into your museum for free?’ She’s like, ‘Alright, I’ll let it slide just this once, but next time, make sure you have the ID.’

“Now it turns out that in Europe they do have these disability ID cards. We don’t have anything quite like it in the United States, but we went back to Europe the next year and we wanted to go to that museum again, so before we did, I printed off this, like, fake disability card. [Laughing] It’s just an American flag and a disability symbol. We went back to that museum, I showed them the card, they’re like, ‘Oh great. Yeah, go on in, for free, to our museum.’“

  • Bless the hearts of every single european in the notes going, “but if americans don’t have disabled IDs, how do people with invisible disabilities get free museum passes / free trains / other nice service?”

Disabled people in america get slightly better parking and that’s it. And you get that with a doctor’s approval.

  • What is it about laying on the floor when you're overwhelmed that makes everything feel so much better?

  • When God has ceased to answer your prayers, it feels good to distance yourself from Heaven.

  • Adding this to my list of incredibly raw fucking lines gifted from the impossible wonder that is tumblr

  • Here’s the video link, for anyone curious to learn more. It’s both a fascinating and infuriating look into a pivotal part of recent medical history, and I highly recommend it.

Before watching, I thought it boiled down to “the original paper was based on bad science,” but that’s only a small fraction of the story.

  • quick trigger warning: there's a section of this video that covers some very serious medical abuse of young autistic children, so while I highly recommend it, please watch with caution if that might be an issue for you! there's a warning in the video itself but I wanted to make sure people know up front

  • I think the best most human thing in the world is strangers doing a silly thing together

  • Examples:

    - guy at work "Yes, and -" ing the bit me and my coworker were doing where we pretended to be owners of a fantasy medieval tavern not minimum wage retail staff

    - at the gay club when Die Young by Kesha came on and two hundred people, all dancing and drinking separately, jumped up and down to make the "- beat of the drums *STOMP STOMP*" as loud as possible

    - person who watched me stomp round the beach singing a made up song about breakfast foods to name a cat after and suggested more breakfast foods that would be good cat names

    - guy who started a dance off with everyone across the road while waiting for the lights to change

    - very tiny girl at the pharmacy interviewing everyone in the queue and every single one of us in turn sat down and answered this toddler's questions like we were on Letterman

  • The three pillars of humanity, in no particular order, are Joy, Absurdity, and Sharing

  • Is the fish picture cute?

    Rating: NO

This fish is clearly in distress. The fish is stationary, also known as the “freeze” response, indicating an enormous feeling of panic within the animal. The water is far too shallow for a fish of this size, and keeping a fish in a bathtub is unsanitary, both for you and the fish. This is not a healthy environment for a fish to be in, both physically and mentally, as the shock of the unfit living condition can severely lower a fish’s life expectancy - it is not cute, it is not trendy, and it is not worth the aesthetically pleasing instagram shots. Please stop treating animals like toys.
